On the 29th of June 2007 Troels
is going to perform at
The Lakeside Blues
Festival in
Finland.
Compo10.com
has organized an international blues-songwriting
contest together with the Festival
called Blues
Heritage Contest.
Therefor Troels is working on a singleversion of the
song that made it to the final:
"They talk too much". We
expect it to be finished just before the concert in
Finland.
The fall of 2007 Troels
will do a lot of sidemanship: The rockopera
"Jesus Christ Superstar"
for
Det
Danske Teater together
with his friends MD & Keyboardplayer Stig
Christensen, Frede Ewert on Keys & Guitar, Jon
Bruland on Bass, Niels Ratzer on Drums, Lars Hartwig on
Flute + a lot of singers.
There will also be some more Meyerheim TV-shows, but
Troels has promised to work hard on songwriting for a
third and more bluesy album.

MORE NEWS
In case you wonder why Troels Skovgaard is not so much
playing live with his band these weeks, it's because he
is involved in a lot of exiting music projects. The
first is the musical play "Midt om
natten" (In the middle of the
night) at Det
Danske Teater with the direction by Mikael Fock.
Last three weeks, he has been doing rehearsal (with
very tight schedule!) together with the other four
musicians: Niels Ratzer, Henning Pold, Stig Christensen
and Trond Clements and all the actors from the theatre
company. Take a look here for more details about the musical.
Troels is also appearing in new series of TV-shows on
the Danish channel "TV2 Charlie" as a member of Bob Ricketts Band
guaranteeing some hot guitar playing
-------------------------------------------------------------
During
summer 2006, Troels is very busy with different kind of
live-music arrangements.
After the intense evening at Drop Inn at the Copenhagen
Jazz Festival 2006, you can hear Troels’s guitar
playing on the Faeroe Islands accompanying, together
with local musicians the unique singer/songwriter Eivør
Palsdottir at the G-Festival 2006, 21 and 22 July.
From 25 to 28 July Troels is playing some
studio-concerts at the Baltic Recording Studio on the
beautiful Danish Island of Bornholm.
This time Troels is performing without his band, just
to try his own singer/songwriter spirit. He will
perform alone as well as with other singer/songwriters:
Jesper Mejlvang, Brett Perkins and Helle
Hansen.

TROELS SKOVGAARD - double album cd out
No Matter How Far I Go
- double album release
in spring 2006 - more than one and a half hour of
soaring music-quality
Heavily inspired by the radio-success spawned by his
2002 debut album, Troels Skovgaard is now releasing his
double album No Matter How Far I Go.
The album takes the listeners on an adventurous journey
of the uniquemusical world of Danish singer, guitar
player and composer Troels Skovgaard.
Accompanied by world celebrities like
Toots
Thielemans, Alex Acuna, Justo Almario, Jimmy Haslip, Kenwood Dennard, Bob Bailey, Ze Grey and a string of local
Danish top players, Troels playfully explores both
his vocal as well as instrumental universe on this
new CD.
Keeping an almost supernatural work pace, Troels
Skovgaard has not only spent these last couple of years
composing and recording on his own. He is still one of
Denmark's most sought-after session musicians, and as
such he has managed to squeeze dozens of recordings and
live gigs into his tight schedule.
